Minnesota Art Marine Museum

With new leadership and a strategic plan in place, the Minnesota Marine Art Museum began evolving its identity in 2024—moving beyond its 19th-century roots toward a more modern, inviting future while balancing its historic architecture and collections with elements reflecting the Upper Mississippi River and the industrial and natural landscapes of Winona.

As the museum reimagined its visitor experience, durable, well-designed furnishings became essential to creating an elevated yet accessible atmosphere. Blu Dot’s modern, commercial-grade designs—from NeedWant Shelving and the modular 9 Yard Collection to lighting, tables, seating, and accessories—encourage visitors to slow down, engage, and linger, reinforcing the museum’s belief that comfort and community are as critical as the art itself.

The result is a cohesive, welcoming environment that honors marine art’s history while opening the door to its future.
