“This bed is awesome. It is so well made. I was so relieved to get exactly what I expected. Easy to put together, but heavy due to its quality, so you will likely need two people for part of it.”

Nicole

“Great frame! Solid wood and construction. Beautifully crafted. So many compliments already!”

Andrew

“This is our third piece by Blu Dot, and they don't disappoint. This bed is solid and well made, and knockout gorgeous. We upgraded from a simple platform-only queen bed to this beautiful wood frame in a king bed and it makes me want to lounge in bed all day long. It's just fantastic”

Design Process
A person in a blue work jacket is using orange and yellow clamps to hold a vertical wood panel in place against a curved metal frame in a workshop setting.
Good design takes time, patience and often, a heap of prototypes (and people) to get it right.
Black serif text on a white background reading: 'Collaborative design is the essence of who we are. We utilize each other's strengths.'
An open sketchbook with blue line drawings of chairs on graph paper, placed on a wooden work surface surrounded by design sketches and a cutting mat. A hand holding a blue pencil is visible at the bottom right.
Ideas continue to morph into unexpected designs that are better than any one person could create.
A modern lounge chair constructed from layered, curved cardboard panels in a natural tan color, mounted on a white and light wood four-star base, photographed against a clean white background.
A man in a dark work uniform leans over a metal frame, applying a clear adhesive patch with a white and blue applicator to a beige fabric surface on the frame. The setting appears to be a workshop or studio with tools and equipment in the background.
Before you see anything from us, we’ve already seen it a hundred times. We’ve sketched it, discussed it (endlessly) and built prototypes to test its scale, proportion, feel—every inch of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the maximum mattress weight and combined sleeper weight the bed frame can support?

The Woodrow Bed is engineered for everyday residential use and supports standard mattress types along with typical adult sleeper weight. For best long-term performance, weight should be evenly distributed across the frame and used within normal bedroom conditions.

Does the bed require a box spring, or is it designed exclusively for use with a mattress alone?

The bed is designed for mattress-only use and does not require a box spring. The integrated slat system provides the necessary support for compatible mattresses.

How many slats are included, and what is the spacing—suitable for foam, hybrid, or latex mattresses?

The bed includes a closely spaced slat system designed to provide even support and airflow. This configuration is suitable for most modern mattress types, including foam, hybrid, and latex models.

Does the wood finish resist scratches from pets or wear from bedding rubbing over time?

The wood finish is designed for everyday durability and resists light wear from bedding and normal household use. As with all natural wood finishes, minimizing abrasive contact and using protective coverings can help reduce long-term surface wear.

Is the headboard comfortable for sitting upright, or is additional cushioning recommended?

The headboard provides a solid, supportive surface for casual leaning. For extended sitting or added comfort, users may prefer supplemental cushions or pillows.

How much under-bed clearance is available for storage or cleaning?

The frame offers a modest amount of under-bed clearance suitable for low-profile storage bins and easy cleaning access. Clearance may vary slightly depending on mattress height.

Does the frame creak with movement, and how secure are the joinery and hardware?

The bed is designed with sturdy joinery and quality hardware to minimize movement noise. Proper assembly and occasional hardware checks help ensure long-term stability and quiet performance.

Are replacement slats, legs, or hardware available for future maintenance?

Replacement components may be available through the manufacturer or authorized retailers. Contacting customer support is recommended to confirm compatibility and availability for specific parts.
