“Love these counter height chairs. Arrived well packaged and in perfect condition. No assembly needed. The metal lattice work adds a bit of funkiness to these chairs setting them apart from their counterparts. They have a smaller silhouette than I expected and are remarkably comfortable! The bottoms of the legs have rubber-like pads to protect hardwood floors which I appreciated. These chairs actually exceeded my expectations!”

“I really like them. They add some fun color to the room. They are more comfortable that I would expect. I am 6 feet tall and 290lbsso finding comfortable chairs that support my weight is always a challenge. Would recommend to a friend.”

Tyler
Annandale, VA

“Love they are stackable. Surprisingly comfortable. The lower back keeps them right at our bar height which looks great. The price point is fantastic for a fun, unique, comfortable outdoor chair. I would highly recommend!”

Wade

“This is the perfect barstool for our needs. Great looking color choices. Comfortable. Durable. Heavy enough that they’re not affected by wind but not too heavy to move. I also love the open mesh, allowing swimsuits to dry.”

Kim
New Braunfels, TX

“It has been a year later, and the stools are holding up perfectly. I wanted to wait to write a review to see if they would last. They are very sturdy”

A modern bar stool with a woven natural rattan seat and backrest, supported by slim red metal legs, shown against a plain light gray background.
Hot Mesh takes its inspiration from the classic café chair designed by Thonet in 1859. We wanted to design a durable and stackable chair that could be used inside and out.
Black text on a white background reading: 'The Thonet chair's use of two bent pieces of wood to form the seat back is a study in economy.'
Three chairs shown in a studio setting: a black wire-frame chair on the left, a white molded chair in the center, and a natural wood folding high chair on the right.
We used a similar strategy and tried to make a sturdy frame from the least amount of material, while also creating a nice silhouette.
Close-up of a light natural wood chair showing the backrest, seat, and frame against a plain white background.
A monochrome architectural sketch showing four chair designs arranged on a white sheet, with a faceted geometric white structure running along the top and right edges.
The last step was choosing the right material to finish the seat and back. Off-the-shelf materials like perforated metal and screen-like materials got the job done but were dull.
A bright blue metal mesh chair with a tubular frame, positioned in an industrial workshop setting on top of a stack of metal pipes and papers.
We fixed that by creating our own pattern and custom perforated steel – turning a hot mess into Hot Mesh.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the maximum weight capacity of the bar stool when used daily?

The Hot Mesh Stool is designed for everyday residential and light commercial use at bar or counter height and comfortably supports standard adult weight ranges. For best performance, it should be used within typical seated conditions with weight distributed evenly.

Does the mesh seat heat up significantly in direct sunlight?

Like most metal outdoor furniture, the mesh seat can become warm when exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods. It typically remains usable, but cushions can improve comfort in hot or sunny conditions.

How resistant is the finish to rust, fading, or chipping when exposed outdoors year-round?

The stool is built with outdoor-rated materials and finishes designed to resist rust, fading, and general weather exposure. For best longevity, occasional cleaning and protective storage during extreme conditions are recommended.

Is the stool stable on uneven outdoor flooring such as pavers or deck boards?

Yes, the stool is designed with a balanced base that performs well on most outdoor surfaces, including pavers and decking. Slight adjustments in placement may help optimize stability on uneven ground.

Does the footrest maintain rigidity over time with frequent use?

The integrated footrest is structurally reinforced as part of the frame and is designed to remain rigid and stable under regular daily use.

Is the stool stackable without scratching or damaging the frame?

Yes, the Hot Mesh Stool is designed to be stackable for convenient storage. When stacked properly, contact points are minimized, though careful handling is recommended to preserve the finish over time.

Are replacement glides available for protecting patio or indoor floors?

Replacement glides may be available through the manufacturer or authorized retailers.
