Design Process

A person in a blue work jacket is using orange and yellow clamps to hold a vertical wood panel in place against a curved metal frame in a workshop setting.

Good design takes time, patience and often, a heap of prototypes (and people) to get it right.

Black serif text on a white background reading: 'Collaborative design is the essence of who we are. We utilize each other's strengths.'

An open sketchbook with blue line drawings of chairs on graph paper, placed on a wooden work surface surrounded by design sketches and a cutting mat. A hand holding a blue pencil is visible at the bottom right.

Ideas continue to morph into unexpected designs that are better than any one person could create.

A modern lounge chair constructed from layered, curved cardboard panels in a natural tan color, mounted on a white and light wood four-star base, photographed against a clean white background.

A man in a dark work uniform leans over a metal frame, applying a clear adhesive patch with a white and blue applicator to a beige fabric surface on the frame. The setting appears to be a workshop or studio with tools and equipment in the background.

Before you see anything from us, we’ve already seen it a hundred times. We’ve sketched it, discussed it (endlessly) and built prototypes to test its scale, proportion, feel—every inch of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the maximum weight each drawer can hold when fully loaded?

Each drawer is designed to support typical clothing storage such as folded garments, denim, and accessories. While a specific weight rating isn’t published, evenly distributing contents and avoiding overloading will help maintain smooth operation and long-term durability.

Do the drawers fully extend, and how smooth and quiet is the glide mechanism?

The drawers are built with quality glides that provide smooth, consistent operation. They extend far enough to allow easy access to most of the interior space, though they may not be full-extension. The mechanism is designed to operate quietly under normal use.

How resistant is the dresser finish to scratches from jewelry trays or décor items placed on top?

The finish is designed for everyday durability and holds up well under typical use. However, like most wood or lacquered surfaces, it can show scratches if rough or hard objects are dragged across it. Using felt pads under décor and trays will help protect the surface.

Does the dresser include wall-anchoring hardware for additional safety in homes with children?

Yes, wall-anchoring hardware is typically included or recommended to secure the dresser and reduce tip-over risk. Anchoring is strongly advised, especially in households with children.

Are replacement drawer fronts, glides, or legs available if one component becomes damaged?

Replacement components such as hardware, glides, or legs are often available through the retailer or manufacturer, depending on availability. This helps extend the life of the dresser and maintain functionality over time.

Is the interior drawer space suitable for bulkier items like sweaters or blankets?

Yes, the drawers are designed to accommodate a range of clothing types, including bulkier items like sweaters. For larger items such as blankets, capacity will depend on folding and overall volume, but the drawers offer practical storage for most bedroom needs.

Does the dresser remain stable when multiple drawers are opened at the same time?

The dresser is designed with a stable base, but as with most multi-drawer furniture, opening several drawers at once can shift weight forward. For safety, it’s best to open one drawer at a time and use wall anchoring for added stability.

What maintenance routine is recommended to preserve the finish and prevent wear over time?

Routine care includes wiping the surface with a soft, damp cloth and drying it promptly. Avoid harsh cleaners or abrasive materials. Using protective pads under objects and cleaning spills quickly will help preserve the finish and keep the dresser looking its best.
