Blu Dot Contract Policies

Shipping

We strive to deliver your purchase in excellent condition exactly when you need it. If you have special circumstances that need to be considered, please inform your account manager at the time of order placement or prior to shipping.

Standard Freight

Orders ship via LTL, FTL, or common carrier (FedEx or UPS). Delivery appointments will be scheduled with the receiver for LTL and FTL shipments. Small parcel deliveries will not be scheduled in advance.

Local Freight

LTL shipments within 35 miles of Blu Dot’s warehouse (Otsego, MN 55303) may be eligible for subsidized shipping at 3.5% of LIST with a $35 minimum via courier.

Swatch Orders

Swatch orders placed on bludot.com are shipped via USPS. In-stock swatches arrive within 5 to 7 days. Most Blu Dot stores and reps keep a swatch library on hand. Please email your account manager or rep for expedited options.

Storage fees

Once an order has shipped, it cannot be held in transit. A minimum $35/day storage fee begins accruing 5 business days after an order is ready to be delivered.

Redelivery fees

Missed deliveries are subject to a $149 minimum fee for rescheduling.

Reroute fees

Rerouted shipments are subject to a $149 minimum fee for reroutes. Actual freight fees may be assessed for cross-country reroutes. Addresses may be changed prior to shipment for no charge.

Remote areas

Some parts of the USA and Canada may be too remote for our standard carriers. Please inquire with your account manager if shipping to a remote area. Note that extra transit time or fees may be required.

Payment

Ownership is transferred from Blu Dot to the buyer at the time of shipment. Credit cards will be charged at that time and/or invoices issued.

Holds

In stock orders can be held for up to 60 days from purchase. Holds may be extended past 60 days with a non-refundable deposit equaling 50% of the order total. This deposit must be paid via check or ACH. After one year, the deposit is forfeited, and the order is cancelled unless exceptions are arranged at the time of order placement.

Backorders

Orders containing backorders are held to ship complete unless otherwise requested.

Blu Dot will ship up to 2 shipments/order for no additional shipping fees when items are out of stock. Additional shipping fees may be assessed for more than 2 shipments/order.

Shipping to Canada

Contract orders shipping to Canada require use of customer’s own broker. Import duties and broker fees will be assessed by the broker directly. Blu Dot cannot be responsible for broker fees or import duties. Email your account manager to better understand Canadian shipping restrictions.

Returns

Returns are not allowed except in cases of damage or defect.

Cancellation policy

Line-item and order cancellations may be allowed before an order has left our warehouse. There are no cancellation penalties or fees for stock Blu Dot product.

Custom and made-to-order deposits are non-refundable and items are not eligible for cancellation or return. Email your account manager for more information.

Shipping Damage Reports

Shipping damage must be reported within 3 business days of delivery.

Concealed Damage Reports

Concealed damage claims must be reported within 60 days of delivery.

Labor Chargebacks

Blu Dot cannot be responsible for re-install fees of items damaged in shipping if not reported within the required 3 business day window.

Blu Dot cannot be responsible for re-install fees of items without proper documentation, including images of damaged packaging.

Prior authorization is required for all labor rebills. Quotes must be submitted to your account manager for formal written approval prior to invoicing. All invoices must be addressed to Blu Dot with an accompanying W-9 for all new vendors. Blu Dot reserves the right to refuse labor rebills for any reason, and labor rebills are not covered by warranty.

Replacement Parts

Replacement parts and items are subject to stock availability. Lead times for replacements will vary.

Demo Product Returns

Demo or sit-test items purchased with standard discounting are eligible for return with prior authorization from your account manager. Large items and items unable to be returned like-new are not eligible for return. Inquire with your account manager or rep for complete demo options.

Eligible demo returns must be initiated within 30 days of receipt. All items must be re-boxed in original packaging and returned in like-new condition. Blu Dot reserves the right to assess return fees on items not returned within the required window or condition.

Third-Party and International Shipments

Blu Dot does not ship outside of the contiguous USA and Canada. It is the responsibility of the shipper to file damage claims with your carrier if shipping damage occurs. Items damaged in third-party transport are not covered by warranty.
