First off, the design of this couch looks and fits great in my apartment (600 sq. feet). The simple flip out design is also a lot easier to use then your typical sleeper sofa. It definitely has a firm feel (which I like) so if your looking for a "cushiony" sofa I'd probably go with another option. I initially had a problem with the One Night Stands fabric. It seemed to pill and stain fairly easily.
Fortunately, Blu Dot customer service followed through with a solution and now the couch is looking sweet. This is a great modern sofa for anyone with a limited amount of space. Highly recommended

If looks where everything, ugh. This is one stylish piece of furniture that screams modern without making you feel like you are in the set of a remake for 2001 space odyssey (now that isn't a bad thing either). But sadly, for us the problems started right away.
After two days of having it, we tried using it as a bed to watch a movie. the half of the mattress that is connected to the top of the couch was comfortable enough (understanding that this is not an actual mattress), but the other half was incredibly uncomfortable. You can feel the planks through the thin cushioning.
What's worse is that the quality of these planks is AWFUL. Halfway through the movie (the first movie we ever watched in this as a bed, after two days of owning it) I turned from my back to my side and two snapped immediately!!!! Now I am not a 98 pound ballerina and do have some extra weight and height on me (6'2" and around 240#) but it's not like I was jumping or standing on this thing, I simply rolled to my side and they snapped. We where extremely disappointed in the fact that we didn't get to use that half of the bed ever again. Furthermore, the fabric developed these fuzzy balls, much like a cheap wool coat does, within a few months of having this couch. It would be understandable if it where because of heavy use, but we really don't use it that much as we both work most of the time, and when at home, we hang out and watch movies in bed most of the time.
We simply resolved to making what's best of it and have had this for over three years now. We never use it as a bed, as it's broken and we don't want to damage it more, and while we can get one of those battery operated frayed/balled up fabric shavers, they come back every four months or so. I really wanted to love this couch, but the quality is really subpar, and for the price tag, that's just not worth it. Hopefully some day we can gut it, re plank it, and re-upholster it, as if these problems didn't exist, this would have been our favorite couch ever.

This couch was manufactured with poor quality materials. We started seeing the frayed balls on the fabric months after owning it, with very little use. Not worth the cost.

Comments about Blu Dot One Night Stand Sleeper Sofa:
It is elegant and modern. The sofa folds very easily into a bed. It is the firmest bed we have ever slept on. I would recommend adding a mattress cover on top if you prefer a softer bed.

Comments about Blu Dot One Night Stand Sleeper Sofa:
"One night stand" is too hard, both as a sofa and as a bed. Those who have had a night's sleep on it have turned down a second invitation and stayed in a hotel. Second negative is difficulty in converting the sofa to a bed.

Comments about Blu Dot One Night Stand Sleeper Sofa:
Probably the best modern looking sleeper you'll find on the market. Or at least anywhere in the Bay Area... my wife and I looked everywhere! This couch is comfortable to sit on, but when folded out it isn't the best to sleep on. My 50-something mom isn't happy sleeping on it when she visits, even though I've covered it with two mattress pads. Despite this, I'm happy with our decision to purchase the sofa. I hate day beds!

Comments about Blu Dot One Night Stand Sleeper Sofa:
I purchased this sleeper for a client and he loves it. I have since recommended it again to another client and I think she is going to purchase as well. Very comfortable for lounging and also sleeping esp. if you like a firmer feel and a low "platform" style bed. Very thrilled to see the new colors as well. Thanks Blu Dot!

Comments about Blu Dot One Night Stand Sleeper Sofa:
After looking at and rejecting a huge number of sleeper sofas because they were either way out of my price range or designed to be uncomfortable, I settled on the Blu Dot. I'm glad I did. Everyone who has slept on it tells me how comfortable it is as a bed, and it's not half bad as a couch, either. Very comfy to sit and read or stretch out and nap with a cat on my feet.

Comments about Blu Dot One Night Stand Sleeper Sofa:
We purchased this sleeper sofa because the design, size, color and price are wonderful. But, it is not a comfortable guest bed. It has no padding, let alone anything resembling a mattress. For guests, we use a foam topper, a mattress pad, and several comforters. We have decided that for our next guests we will put an air mattress under the mattress pad. With all of that being said, we still love it!

Comments about Blu Dot One Night Stand Sleeper Sofa:
says my mother. And that's high praise. The delivery men were impressed with the design and construction (no they don't work for BluDot). The sofa is firm, a plus for my husband who finds it perfect for stretching out and reading. The dogs love it and I'm certain overnight guests will too (after we shoo the dogs off and slap a feather bed on top). It sits a bit deep and high for me but the lumbar pillows help and I plan to purchase a couple Ottos. We love it. It's lovely in Persimmon. Ingenious.
