This is my primary couch and I LOVE it. Comfy to sit or sleep on -- I'm very average-sized and can easily stretch out or curl up on it.

It's hard to find nice quality modern-looking sleeper sofas but this one totally fits the bill. I found that this sofa has a deeper seat than several of its price range "peers" which made it the best choice for me. My sofa has the pebble color upholstery, which I feel is accurately depicted on the website.

Works well as a sleeper too. As a bed it has a higher profile than most air mattresses and certainly higher than most daybeds I've seen. Queen sheets fit perfectly and a foam pad is not even necessary.

We have a small two bedroom condo and this is our only couch. We wanted something with a small footprint that could be used as a sleeper without being heavy or fussy. For that, I would rate it 4+ stars, but as an everyday couch I don't find it comfortable so I gave it three stars overall.

Pros: 1)Being able to flip the couch open to a bed is very easy and useful and will be even more so now that we are converting our second bedroom into a nursery. The guests that have slept on it have all said it is comfortable. 2) The look of the couch is perfect for us. 3) We have a dog that sheds that we allow on furniture. I vacuum the couch every other week and the dog hair sucks right up for the most part. We do keep the half of the couch that she typically sleeps on covered with a blanket when guests are not over so that helps minimize the dog hair.

Cons: Really just one - I wish the seat depth was a couple inches more. It's hard to get comfortable when watching tv/movie. Also (this is minor, but related), I used to be able to take naps with the dog laying next to me and this couch doesn't really allow for that. The dog (she is small and I am not huge) can squeeze on, but she doesn't get comfortable enough to stay for long. Prior to this, we had a traditional overstuffed couch which felt fairly large and was comfy, but the cushions always needed to be reshaped which drove us a little crazy. In reaction to that we bought this couch which is much firmer, but less cozy. We knew that going into it and thought we would adjust... but two years later we're still not used to it.

I am glad we bought this couch, and one day will be happy to have it in a different room when we have a larger place. It is not ideal as our only couch. However, if you don't watch too much tv and don't take naps on your couch you would probably be totally happy. It is very cool and sleek, looks as pictured, and gets lots of compliments.

Comments about Blu Dot The Diplomat Sleeper Sofa:

It's so incredibly uncomfortable. It looks like it belongs in a dentist's waiting room (a fashionable dentist's waiting room). I am 125 lbs and 5'5" and I feel like a gangly giant trying to sit or lay comfortably on this sofa.

Comments about Blu Dot The Diplomat Sleeper Sofa:

I will start with some pros:
Great length and not bulky looking
I enjoy the firmness of the cushion
          Great white glove service

          Cons:
After a year and half (a trend btw in these reviews!) the fabric frays at the center corners and pills.
Fixed cushions and over time the cushion foam has warped. The dent is noticeable and won't come out. Not solved yet and was told by bludot to contact a furniture repair company since my warranty expired....
The sleeper part is very VERY firm. Solved by using down pillow topper.

A few call outs for short people (I'm 5'4). The seat depth is too deep and back cushions are too low. My feet don't touch if I sit all the way back and even then I barely get support from the cushion.

Comments about Blu Dot The Diplomat Sleeper Sofa:

Being a renter, I love that this sofa is so easily adjustable from couch to bed. It's a very comfortable sofa and can seat several people comfortably. I also use it as my primary bed and find it excellent to sleep on. The price is a little more than basic sofas but is actually a bargain once you consider that you're getting two excellent pieces of furniture in one!

            Service and delivery comments:

White glove delivery service is awesome! They set up the couch (basically just screwed in the posts) but most important -- took away all the packing materials! Definitely go this route.

Comments about Blu Dot The Diplomat Sleeper Sofa:

I primarily use my Diplomat as a couch, and I have no complaints. It's a great place to relax after work or watch a movie. As others have mentioned, it starts out a bit firm. Like most couches it softens quite a bit over time. The initial firmness is actually quite important as it prevents the couch from becoming saggy later (always my problem with previous couches!)

Guests who have slept on it always tell me that it's quite comfortable as a bed as well. It certainly beats an air mattress, and the conversion to sleeper is such a clever design! Overall I'm very happy with my purchase.

Was a bit worried about buying this sofa due to some of the earlier reviews, but I am so glad that I did! It's by far the best sleeper sofa I've seen and all my house guests have loved sleeping on it. It's definitely on the firmer side (which I like) but not uncomfortably so. Thank you, Blu Dot!

Looked good when we first got it but it was never really comfortable as a sofa. Then after a year and a half one of the legs cracked (not from overly heavy use--no one super overweight or flopping down on it). There seemed to be some flaw in the design and the way the legs were screwed in.

Nice design but be aware of two issues I have experienced after 1 1/2 years: (a)early on the foam in the coach will become a bit mis-shappen at the edge of the seating/bench and (b)after more time the glued wood veneers around the legs start to peel.

This sofa is a nice addition to our office; we wanted to have a place for overnight guests that also functioned in an everyday room. The sofa looks great, but the cushions are a little too shallow when sitting on it. When it opens to a bed, the two sides don't quite line up so there is a dip from one side to the other. We bought a memory foam topper that we use on the bed, and that works pretty well. Overall, it serves its purpose and it's one of the best looking sofa beds I've ever seen.
